Għeżież ġenituri

Nixtiequ nfakkrukom li l-iskola tagħna timxi mal-linji gwida nazzjonali tal-iskejjel rigward ikel bnin u attività fiżika. Aħna nagħmlu dan b’mod responsabbli iżda żgur nirnexxu biss bis-sapport u kollaborazzjoni sħiħa tagħkom. Dan ifisser li l-ikel li jinġieb l-iskola għandu jkun bnin u skont il-linji gwida mehmuża hawn. Għalhekk nitlobkom li meta tkunu tippreparaw l-lunch timxu mal-lista t’ikel u xorb li hu permess. Hemm ħafna suġġerimenti kif jista’ jkun lunch. Nitlobkom ma tippreparawx lunches li fihom ikel immarkat bħala projbit fuq il-lista, speċjalment ħelu, ċikkulati, ‘frott’ proċessat tal-bott, pakketti tal-crisps …, cereals/cereal bars mimlijin zokkor etċ.

Dwar xorb, m’hemm xejn aħjar minn ilma naturali (mingħajr sustanzi miżjuda). Tpoġġux soft drinks, ilma flavoured jew juices ġol-water bottles – uliedkom kollha kapaċi jixorbu ilma naturali. Jekk uliedkom jispiċċalhom l-ilma aħna lesti nerġgħu nagħtuhom mid-dispenser tal-ilma tal-iskola.

Fl-aħħarnett mhux ser nibqgħu naċċettaw kejkijiet / pasti etċ. għal birthdays fl-iskola. Aħna xorta nibqgħu niċċelebraw għeluq sninhom, u napprezzaw jekk tixtiequ tagħtu ktieb (ġdid jew użat) għal-librerija tal-klassi għal din l-okkażjoni speċjali. Jekk tixtiequ tibagħtu frott frisk / fruit kebabs jew xi alternattiva bnina oħra din tiġi aċċettata.

Ninsab ċert li lkoll tifhmu li s-saħħa (u l-edukazzjoni) tat-tfal tiġi qabel kollox u li ser tgħinuna nimplimentaw din il-policy. Matul is-sena ser nippromwovu ukoll l-attività  fost l-istudenti, mhux biss waqt il-lezzjonijiet tal-PE iżda wkoll permezz t’attivitajiet oħra li ser ikunu miftuħa għalikom il-ġenituri wkoll.

Grazzi tal-kollaborazzjoni

Dear parents

We would like to remind you that our school follows the national school healthy eating and physical activity policy. We aim to do this in a responsible way but surely cannot achieve it without your support and full collaboration. This means that the food consumed at school has to be healthy and follows the attached guidelines provided to us. So when you are about to prepare your child’s lunches, it would be appreciated if you follow the attached list of permissible food and drinks. There are many suggestions as to what lunches can consist of. Please do not prepare lunches from food which is marked as prohibited on the attached list especially when it comes to sweets, chocolates, tinned fruit, packets of crisps, sugary cereals/bars etc.

When it comes to drinks, there is nothing healthier than still (non-flavoured) water. Avoid hiding flavoured water, soft drinks or juices in a water bottle – every child can drink water. In case your children drink all their water we will refill their bottle from the school  water dispenser.

Finally for birthdays, we are discontinuing the practice of bringing birthday cakes/pastries or cup cakes etc. at school. We will still celebrate you children’s birthday at school and if you wish to donate a book (new or second-hand) to the class library it would be a nice way in which we can celebrate this special occasion.  Should you want to send some fresh fruit / fruit kebabs or other healthy alternatives this would also be acceptable.

I am sure that you will all understand that our children’s health (and education) comes first and foremost and that you will support us in implementing this policy. During the year we will also promote an active lifestyle amongst our pupils, not only through PE, but also through other activities, some of which will be open for parents as well.

Thank you for your cooperation

Back to School

Dear parents, guardians and students

On Monday 26th September we will open the school doors to welcome our Years 1 to 6 pupils. Then on the 3rd October we will welcome the Kinder 1 and 2 pupils to school.

We look forward to continue providing our students with a wonderful educational experience and I also look forward to getting to know you and your children personally.

As usual school starts at 8:30am and ends at 2:30pm. Those of you who have applied for the free Breakfast Club can bring their children from 7:30am onwards. If anyone else wishes to sign up, there is an online link at http://education.gov.mt

The years 1 to 6 class teachers have already advised you what stationery etc. your children should bring to school and if you have them ready for the first school day it would surely help.

I would also like to remind you to prepare 2 lunches for your children as we stop for lunch breaks at 10:10am and at 12:30pm.

Finally we intend to hold parent meetings so that the class teachers and I can meet you. During these meetings we will discuss with the teachers how we can help our pupils during the scholastic year and I will update you on school policies and activities. Meeting dates will probably be between 28th September and 7th October. I will send you the meeting dates this week to give you enough chance to make arrangements to attend. Your attendance is greatly encouraged.
